nikhil.00100
I visited Secretary of state office in Plymouth, MI (Lilley Rd) on 18th September as my DL expires on 30th September along with my 1st H1B Term (about to expire I-94). I have an approved H1B from my employer which is valid till April 2017. When I visited I had the following documents 1. Employer sponsored H1B extension (I797A) valid until April 2017 2. Passport 3. 2 Address proofs. They did not give me the renewed license and initiated a SAVE query. Its been 4 days so far and the SAVE case status only says case in review. From some of the earlier forums I read, it seems like they are taking quite a long time. I need my car since I am a full time professional plus attending school and michigan becomes very cold very soon. Any suggestions here to speed up the process or suggest a way out of all this wil be very very appreciated. As of now, I have emailed the Secretary of state office and as always they said, it has to go through the regular procedure. What options do I have? 1. Lawyer 2. Visiting or emailing a senator office? 3. Visiting USCIS office (I have already taken an appointment for October 1) 4. Any other? Link to comment

Madhumitha karthikeyan
Hi I know it's a long time since this post. But I have a question about this. I live in michigan too, and I'm on a H4.mine and spouse's visa are under extension. And my license has expired. SOS refused to extend it without the new i797. What is SAVE, and does it apply to h4 ? There's no way to go about without a license here in Mi. Link to comment
