Travel While AP is pending

I have to travel abroad and AP is pending,

 

1)will that be considered as abandoning the AP ?

 

2) Will AP be approved while staying outside the  the USA? 

 

3) i know  for applying AP one has tobe in USA and on AP approval  date one need not be in the USA. is my understanding correct?
