However my child has a valid Green card that will not expire for another 4 years. I just applied for my citizenship (N-400 can take a year depending on processing time). My child has no plans to travel out of the country. I believe my child is legal to stay in US on GC. After I get my USC, my child can apply for US passport. At that time will it be required to have a valid Indian passport? Is it necessary to renew the Indian passport now before the expiry? Please advise? Thank you! Link to comment
