H1Bunlucky Posted May 6, 2015 Report Share Posted May 6, 2015 Hi jairichi: The reason for second petition is something like this- The first petition was sent on 31st March for it to be delivered to USCIS on April 1, 2015. But FEDEX could not confirm that the petition was delivered to USCIS. Their tracking was saying "in transit" till 6th of April. Employer called FEDEX manager and he said they can not locate or know where about of the petition. Thus, to make sure my petition enter the lottery in case my first petition was lost or not delivered in time, the second petition was filed on 6th and was delivered on 7th. According to USCIS guidelines, if you file 2nd petition then you have to withdraw the first one. Link to comment
