shaanreddy
Me and my wife currently living in USA. I am on H1B and my wife is permanent resident. She filed family based GC for me under F2A category and my I-130 is approved. But the NVC case number is BMBXXXXXXXXXX and online we found out, BMB stands for Mumbai consulate(India) , does that mean I will get visa interview in Mumbai when my visa number is available?. 1) If yes, why my case is assigned to BMB(Mumbai consulate), though I live and work in USA. 2) Can I request NVC to have my visa interview in USA consulate near I live? If yes, will it badly effect/change our current processing dates. Thanks in Advance. Link to comment
pontevecchio
F2A is backlogged by 18 months. Once your PD is current you can choose to file for AOS or go and get the IV in Mumbai. The situation arose because you filled up the forms that way. There is an option to choose AOS where appropriate. Link to comment

pontevecchio
Basically you would file for AOS from H1..Form .I-485. That way your GC will be processed here. All instructions on the USCIS website. Link to comment
