bv2006
Hi, I am planning to go to canada for my h1b extension stamping. This is my second extension after the initial 6 years have lapsed.I have my I-140 approved and have a permanent job with the same employer since the last ten years. I have been reading posts here that 221g's are being given in ottawa , is that true? I have gotten a visa stamping in the past - once in ottawa and once in calgary. I live in boston ma and can drive to ottawa or toronto or montreal. Can you please suggest which one should I try to get an appointment for ? I appreciate your help in this regard. thank you Link to comment

rahul412
I have been reading posts here that 221g's are being given in ottawa , is that true? 221g are common at every consulate. Only people without proper documentation get 221g. Bottom line, all consulates are one and same Link to comment
venuprasad
Hi, I attended visa interview on Apr 15th -- ottawa. Approved ,and i am waiting for my passport here. Why did you change university? How long are you with previous employer? client letter vendor letter I-129 petition and visa approved. I think you can go to Ottawa. Link to comment
bv2006
I did not get any dates in June in Ottawa - so picked Montreal for that purpose. does any one know how many days to get the passport and visa back - if everything is normal -that is and there's no 221g issual and all that. chetu123
Hi, @bv2006 How did your process go? Any information you can provide will be really helpful. I have an appointment scheduled for August 20 at Montreal - very similar status as you. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
bv2006
Hi @chetu123 I never made the trip to montreal since at that time , there were lot of delays in getting the visa stamped there. I could not spare much time since it was a busy time at work, so I didnt take the chance. I cancelled my appointment and will try for another time when I can spare a few days away from work, some time later in the year. good luck with the visa stamping , hope all goes well for you Hi, @bv2006 How did your process go?
