H1B First time visa stamping experience at Hyderabad, India

Hi Members,

 

I am posting my visa exeperience that I went through today and hope it will help those who have interviews in coming days.

 

My Case:

First H1B, Had done H1B Change of employer and so I have two I797's.

 

My appointment was fixed for 10.30 AM, I reached the entry line outside the Hyderabad US cousulate at 10.27 AM. I didn't wanted to rush and so stud in the queue, I could you just gone to the security guard and He would have let me in.

 

Went through all the security checks, was given a token#, fingerprinting completed and I was seated at the waiting area. 

 

There were 5 persons in front of me, 3 for H1b(including me), 2 visit visas, the very first guy got rejected and I guess it was due to a shady Consulting firm he had selected that had only 9 employees. I got bit tensed because the Visa Officer got a bit pissed of by this first guy.

The VO was a cool guy :) Later All the others were granted Visas :)

 

Questions:

1. Did you do MS in US?

2. Which University?

3. Why did you change Uni?

4. How long did you study (to complete MS)

5. Who is your petitioner?

6. What's your salary?

7. How long have you been working for this company?

 

That's it. He said, Your visa is approved and called the next person in line :)
