I94 : Travel outside US with Extened I797

Hi

I have valid visa stamp till Sep 2015. I recently filed for H1B extension premium, considering its approved by May 15 2015 for 3 years, so I get new I797 with I94 expiring on Sep 2018.

 

Now If I travel outside USA.

Can I renter USA without stamping using my first H1B?

If Yes, the new I94 would be expired same as my first H1B. what happens to my new H1B?

 Now I would be having two I94's. Which one is valid.

1. Only if you enter before H1B visa expiry.

2. Show both I797s at POE.

 So I am planning to visit Mexico in June for 5 days by cruise over sea. Do I have to handover I94 copy before leaving USA? Anything I need to be careful about?

Travelling over sea is similar to travelling to INDIA in case of POE?

You can use AVR facility for your travel to Mexico. In that case no need to surrender your I94.
