Hello Everyone. I met with an accident in 2010 while i was at work. I am an RF engineer and we usually are out on the field for testing the signals. When I met with the  accident company driver was driving and i was sitting behind with the equipment , our car fell 300 feet down the hill. I was injured pretty bad got stitches in my leg and my knee was pretty messed up. Our company said it will take care of it. i followed up with the HR constantly and then and she said they will take care of the medical bill and stuff. Now as i am applying for a loan (2015) ,when i see my complete credit report i see that this bill was not taken care of. I see the bill is still in collections and  open. I am very upset with this please suggest me what to do now .

i did not have health insurance back then, Since i was injured at work work should have paid for the medical expenses. My bill was around $900. When i called the HR back then she said they would take care of it. But they did not.

Can i do something legally, cant i sue them for messing up my credit history?

who is responsible of $900 is between you & the company..collection agencies or the credit reporting agencies do not care about it..

forget $900..don't know the size of your company..but given the nature of the accident and circumstances, I'm surprised that you didn't sue them enough that you should be able to retire now..may be too late now..

Given the nature of the accident and circumstances, I'm surprised that the medical bill was only $ 900.  Is there more to the story?

Ambulance ride alone would be @ $500. I assume you could not drive the same vehicle to hospital after falling 300 ft down the hill.

I have received an email from the HR saying that he will mail the $847 check in the mail, But what about they messing up my credit history it has been in the collections since 2010. If i had not checked my complete credit report i would not have even known about this . Can i go legally and sue this company for the trauma caused and befoul my credit score , Due to this i was denied decent APR from one of the banks.  How can i legally approach this situation. if i would be eligible what type of attorneys can i get help from. Can anyone please suggest someone. I might not be able to bear a lot of cost though.

it is to find an injury lawyer who works on taking a percentage of settlement money than an upfront fee, as the settlement can be huge..

for this $900 and resulting credit report trouble, the anticipated settlement will not be much..so u can use a mom and pop type attorney for a hundred dollars fee and probably can get couple of thousands in damages..
