tellmeaboutit
I applied for name change during naturalization in Dallas field office. What is the difference between Judicial Oath vs. Administrative Oath? Which type of Oath do I need? Does anyone know the schedule for Judicial oath in Dallas field office? My interview is scheduled for April 27th and I want to travel to India after my Oath. If I know the Oath schedule, I can plan accordingly. Your response is much appreciated. Link to comment
JoeF
With a name change, the only option is a judicial Oath. A name change in the US can only be done by a court. In a Judicial Oath, the oath ceremony is also a court session, presided by a judge. That allows them to do name changes. An administrative Oath is presided by a USCIS officer. Link to comment
