Passport expiry before US travel

Hi All

 

I have my US travel on my first H1B in the next month April. And my passport is getting expired by next year March/2015.

 

Will there be any issue at my US POE??

 

I can renew my passport after few months in USA right?

 

Can some one please reply me on my query.....

You will get an I94 based on your passport expiry date. Yes, you can renew you passport in US.

you cannot travel on an expired passport. Many countries have rules in place that your passport be valid for 6 months at least.

You can renew the passport in USA it will be done in less than a month.

While traveling outside country for stamping recommended is atleast it should valid for 6 months.

So my I-94 will be till March-2016 only? if my PP expiry date is Mar-2016.

 

If so then after getting the new PP in US then i need to extend my I-94? or renew it?

So as per the above replies Minimum 6 months validity should be fine to travel to USA.

dilipm-  You are good to travel to US with your current passport. 

 

You may get your I-94 till your passport expiry date  OR  till H1B petiotion end date.  It totally depends on the officer.

 

In case you get your I-94 till passport exp date then you have to renew your passport and then extend your I94, it should not be a problem.
