NIHGUY
Hello there, I was wondering if somebody can advice me on following situation. I have to travel to India next month (kinda important). My J1 waiver in under process with Department of States (status- sponsor views requested). My J1 visa stamp is until March 2016, DS2019 is valid until July end. Based on these circumstances, can i travel to India and come back to USA on same visa? Any help is appreciated. Thanks Link to comment

Attorney_11
Recommendation/Approval of the waiver prior to return travel may have a deletrious effect. It is recommended to speak to an competent and credible immigration attorney prior to scheduling any travel. Link to comment
dpphd
I did not have any problem in my travel during the process. Both DoS and USCIS recommended and approved my waiver while i was in my home country. I traveled back to USA 2 days after USCIS approval with valid visa and DS2019. Link to comment
ann_123
Hello NIHGUY, I am in a similar situation now. I am on J2 and my waiver is in the process. I need to travel outside USA, next month but really tensed about my re-entry. It would be really helpful if you could tell me wheather you had faced any problem at the port of entry while re-entering to USA? Please help Thank you. --Ann Link to comment
