i-485 processing time after i-140 approval

Hello experts,

 

My i-140/i-485 was concurrently filed 1 year ago. I underwent biometrics back then. After a couple of RFE back-and-forth, i-140 is finally approved.

 

Now, how long before i-485 is approved? USCIS website says Texas is processing i-485 from July 2014. Am I really anticipating an 8-month wait?? Or is my situation different?

 

(FYI my application was filed under EB2 and my priority date is current)

 

My attorney said "a few weeks" so what is the cause of the discrepancy in information? (so that I know what to ask my attorney).

Please advise. To re-iterate, the I-140 and I-485 was concurrently filed 1 year ago. I-140 was approved 2 weeks ago. How long will it take for I-485?

It depends on the Priority date. What is the date on your approved I-140 and also check if your date is current on the visa bulletin.

It could be a few weeks. I -140 approved  last year  are getting 485 approvals now so it could take longer.
