shiva64 Posted March 19, 2015 Report Share Posted March 19, 2015 Hello Friends, My wife and I got Married in Aug 2013 in India. We both are on H1 B. We filled taxes for 2013 and 2014 as married. We did not bring a marriage certificate from India. Is there any way that we can get a marriage certificate from Consulate of India in USA or Else is there any way we can get one from India with out we traveling . Can we get a marriage certificate in USA for the Past Date 2013 showing Some Proofs . Please Advice. Thank you, Sree Link to comment

mrignayani Posted March 3, 2016 Report Share Posted March 3, 2016 You may want to get a affidavit made by your parents in India, Both parents should together got to a Attorney & get an affidavit that our kids got married on XXXX infront of us in a XXX ritual marriage etc., Any attorney under the tree will do it in 10 min for you, you have to carry photographs for them to paste in the 2nd page of the affidavit & stamp it & sign it. ID proof, of you both, I797 of you both & your parents ID proof's, if any of them deceased the respective proofs etc., Carry everything, so that the Attorney doesn't play shuttle with your old parents.
