Hi Knswamy,

Are they accepting appointments in Kingston, Jamaica. I planning  to go for H1 stamping and this is my first time (F1 to H1), right now i am in H1 extension. If you can provide me some information that will be more helpful for me. Please share your contact number.

Thanks,

Venkatesh

Venkatesh - I don't think you can get a F1 to H1 stamped at Kingston. They've changed the rules that prohibits people appearing at the consulate to obtain stamping for a new category.

Rakee/ Houston - I had originally booked my appointment at Kingston for Nov 26th 2014 before the Oct 31st announcement came that barred people from applying for visas. Then, DHS canceled my appointment automatically and then reissued a new date for 3/23. I didn't select this appointment date on my own.

Ajay - please email me your info ****************@gmail.com. Maybe we can share something.

Please be advised of the following rules that Kingston consulate has posted. My attorney advised me this afternoon to cancel my appointment at Kingston and go to India for stamping.

There is a HIGH CHANCE (doesn't mean people can get through) that Kingston is enforcing the following rules and may deny you a Visa. So, PLEASE BE CAREFUL and make a safe choice:

a) Changing Visa categories - F1 to H1

b) No previous stamping from India for the current category of Visa (L1, H1)

Please go through each one of these requirements carefully before making your choice:
