COS F2 change to H1

Hi, 

 

I have been living in U.S under F2 status for more than 1 year. Now the school I went to in U.S offered me a job and is willing to sponsor me H1b if I can start working in 2-3 months. It is the end of Feb now. I wonder if this is possible and worth to try. Please help and thank you.

If it is a cap exempt H1B petition (normally schools and universities are cap exempt) then you can start working immediately after approval.

H1s for universities are cap-exempt.

An H1 can be approved in 15 days with Premium Processing.
