makgwatna
My Interview is scheduled for March 10 (at the Baltimore USCIS center). Can anyone help me with understanding what happens after that and what the timeline is. Do they send a notice saying you have been granted citizenship? Is that sent before or after the Oath Ceremony? How long does it take post-interview to get confirmation that one is a US citizen? I would greatly appreciate a response since I am planning to apply for a Federal Job in early March and must be a US citizen when I am hired. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You will get your Naturalization Certificate which is proof of citizenship. I think I got it on the spot. Link to comment
JoeF
It really depends. In some cases, the oath ceremony is a few days later, or even at day of the interview. In other cases, it can take 2 months between interview and oath. You are not a US citizen until you have taken the oath. Link to comment
