rvannela
Hi, The admit date on my I-94 is till March 01, 2015. At the time of entering the country, the immigration officer admitted me until March 01, 2015 as my passport was expiring on March 02, 2015. He asked me to get my passport renewed and visit any CBP office. However, the CBP officer gave me two options 1) Go out of the country and re-enter 2) Apply I-539 online at USCIC for extension. I am currently in Chicago and am going to Texas to see my relatives this weekend. My questions are - 1) Can i cross the border at Loredo and re-enter US to get my I-94 extension? 2) If not Loredo, are there any other cities in Texas where I can cross the border to get my I-94 extended? 3) If I apply online, what do i tell my employer to file for the extension? Thank you for reading through my post. Thanks, Rajashekar Link to comment
jairichi
1. Yes, if you have a valid visa to enter US. 2. Many. Check the forum. 3. If you are on H1B then only an employer can file for extension which is nothing but a cap exempt H1B petition and employer has to pay H1B fee. Tell the employer TRUTH. Link to comment
abhi.reddy
Hi all, I am planning on going to the San Ysidro border for I-94 renewal(which is about to expire due to passpport). Could someone please confirm that Mexican visa is not needed to cross the border and return immediately. Thank you so much for the help Abhi. Link to comment

areddy1234
That's correct, you don't need Mexican visa to cross the broder. But while coming back to US insist on getting a new I 94, else they wont give you. You have to pay $5 to get new I 94. Hope it works out fine for you. Link to comment
