H1b gap between jobs

Hello,

 

There is a gap of 5 days in between start date at my new employer and date on the last paystub of my previous employer.

 

Would this cause any issues in future transfers?

 

Also, the new employer is asking to fill up I-9 form, for which I am not sure what to put as expiry date for work authorization; as I haven't yet received I797 for the transfer application.

you have 60 days to report to new employer after H-1b is filed. As long as your petition was filed before the last day at old employer you are OK.
