varsh1
Hello, My daughter's (11 year old) GC is approved in Oct 2014, but she has been in India for the last two years. I'm in US now and I don't plan to bring my daughter this year (she may come next year middle). In this case, how can she retain the GC status? If she does not come to US within Oct'15, her GC may get void since he's not into US for one year from GC approval. I understand that the reentry permit can be applied, but the question is... 1) can I apply on behalf of her since I'm in US (she's in India)...? or should she be here in US physically to "apply" itself? 2) I heard the fingerprinting is not needed for kids below 14 years. However, would there be any biometric appointment scheduled for her for picture alone? or we won't receive any biometric schedule letter at all... Basically, when she's in India, what's the procedure to get reentry permit? Thanks. Link to comment
JoeF
For a reentry permit, the person has to be in the US when applying. And you can't "apply on her behalf." Link to comment
