H1b VISA approved on DEC 12th at Ottawa after 221g

VISA Appointment date : 12th DEC @ 8.30 AM at Ottawa

 

Model : EVC 

 

Type : F1 - H1 , H1 started on Oct 2014  

 

 

 I'm not sharing initial procedure as everybody posted in other forums. 

 

Interview process: 

 

VO : Good Morning 

Me : Good Morning, How are you.? 

 

VO : Good

Me: Thanks, Handed over yellow file which includes Passport, I797 , DS 160 confirmation page

 

VO: Scanned DS 160 Form, and asked me who do you work for.? 

Me : I said my employer Name 

 

VO : Do you have end client..? 

Me: Yes

 

VO:What is your end client name.?

Me:  I said my end Client Name 

 

VO:Do you have vendor .?

Me : Yes 

 

VO: Can I see your Vendor and Client Letter

Me: Handed over both letters

 

VO: I'm confused with these two letters, why would you have same job description for both vendor and client letter.??

Me: I told him , its same job responsbilites that I performing at client location through vendor

 

VO: How long are you working with this client.?

Me:  I told my joining date. 

 

VO: Can I see your pay stubs and bank statement.? 

Me: I gave him both pay stubs and bank statement

 

Mean while, I observed that he started collecting all my documents and making them in proper order.

 

VO : Can I have last year w-2 and tax forms.?

Me : I handed over my documents

 

VO: Please provide me documentation related to your employer

Me : I handed over all documentation that I have

 

After typing something on his computer, he said we need to have further verification on your employment which would take around 1 -2 weeks and VO handed over me white slip which marked for further review , and then handed over my passport and he kept all documentation including my I 797A  form. 

 

My friend got 221g from same officer at same time. so we both were little bit disappointed and went back to hotel. 

 

After 20 Min of my interview when we are back at hotel, I got email from consulate to handover my passport as my 221g cleared. Later I found that they verified employment with my client within  10 min after my interview( Confirmed from client Manager) .  I went to embassy again, showed email to security outside and submitted my passport, and they said I should receive my passport within 5-7 working days.  Same thing happened to my friend also, we both went and submitted our passports. 

 

Below is the Timeline from interview to passport collection @Loomis 

 

 

Dec 12th Fri  

 

8.00 A.M - Reached consulate 

9.00 A.M - Security cleared and went inside consulate 

9.45 A.M - Interview with VO 

--received 221g from VO 

10.10 A.M - Received email from consulate to submit my passport as my 221g got cleared. 

 

 

Dec 15th Monday 

 

4.00 PM - DS 160 status updated from "Administrative processing"  to "Issued" 

 

Dec 16th Tuesday 

 

4.30 PM - Got email from Loomis that they collected my passport from consulate 

 

Dec 17th Wednesday 

 

10.00 PM - Us visa info site status updated with Way bill # and passport is ready to pickup. 

 

 

My POE Is Toronto, Canada 

 

Following are the questions that I was asked by  Customs Officer  at POE

 

1. Where are you coming from.? 

2.Why did you go to canada.?

3. Why are you going to US.? 

4. Who is your employer..? 

5.Where is your final destination.? 

6.Did you do master 's in US.? 

7.which university you studied Masters.?

8. Finally questions related to customs.
