Planning for a H-1B renewal in Vancouver

Hi folks,

 

I am planning to go for a H-1B renewal visa stamp in Vancouver. My last H-1B (F1 to H1) was in Hyderabad and it was pretty simple and straightforward.

 

Here's how my profile looks  -

 

1. I have been working with the same employer ever since I graduated.

2. I have a Master's degree from the US

3. I am in a non-IT field.

4. I am a direct full-time employee. The company I work for is a US-based tech/engineering company.

5. I have an approved I-140. 

 

Based on my profile, is it ok if I go to Vancouver for an interview instead of India? Also, one more thing I would like to mention is my passport expires in early 2016, should that be a problem by any chance?

 

I would also like to hear what is the availability of dates looking like right now in Vancouver?
