h1b_renew
Hello All, My parents came to US on 6 Nov, 2014 and will be staying till 29 Dec, 2014. They plan to visit again in August 2015 and stay for 6 months. Will it hurt their chances (of staying for 6 months in 2015) if they extend their current stay till Jan 31 2015 . jairichi
If they have a valid I94 they can stay till Jan 31st 2015. Otherwise an extension has to be filed with proper reason. And, there is a possibility that in their next visit in August 2015 they might get an I94 for lesser duration. Link to comment

RBS_123
I have a related question. My parents are in US from July 25th 2014 to Jan 5th Jan 2015. Close to six months. Q 1. When is the best time for them to re-enter to US again? Is there any time limit for them to stay outside of US to renter to stay another six months? Q 2. If someone enters US and stay 2 months ( March 2015 to April 2015) in US and then can he enter again June 2015 and stay for another four months? Please do let me know. Regards, Link to comment

No such time frame exists. It is always expected a visitor to stay a majority of their time in their home country. 2. They might be allowed to enter and might get a shorter I94 validity.
