I am sharing my experience related to H1B visa renewal in matamoros. I filled DS160 for me & my daughter online, then submitted it, paid fees, scheduled appointment and got my dates as 11/24/14 for ACS biometrics & Consulate interview for 11/25/14.

Fortunately I found very good reviews for this person named Mr. Salvadore who assists people in Matamoros with stay and visa related travel. I contacted him via phone and he responded quickly guiding us on all our questions. He picked us from Holiday Inn in Brownsville on 11/24/14 in the morning and took us in his car across the border with ease and got us to his own hotel in Matamoros, BW Hotel. It was a very pleasant stay, comfortable room, pleasant staff, especially Mr. Salvadore was very HELPFUL and he guided us on every detail for the process.

Our biometric app. time was 2:30pm and so he drove us to the place 15 minutes before time, it was a quick process , took around 20minutes in all. They asked for passport & the print out of confirmation page.

Next day went to consulate at 10:15 am, was called in after about 30 minutes of wait outside. Once inside we we went thru security check, submitted out passports & documents, got a token, sat in the chairs for almost 20 min while they interviewed the local population applying for US visa. Then our names were called & interview took 5minutes.

Copy of documents, I-140 if approved, few questions asked were:

Where do you work?

who is your employer?

How long have u worked?

How long have u lived in …?

How many kids?

What does your spouse do?

Show your i-140 approval notice

What is your priority date?

Your visa is approved, u can collect it from here at 3pm today, we will do our best to give it to you at that time.

That was it. Collected it on time and left for Brownsville, TX around 4pm, border crossing took about an hour or so. Overall a very stress free travel and visa renewal process. I would highly recommend it to people who r renewing with the same employer on same visa category if your earlier stamping was done in Home country. Very grateful to Mr. Salvadore for his help & guidance.
