B-1 Visa renewal reg

Hello Guys,

 

This is about one of my relatives. He had a B-1 visa issued in 2005 and it expired in June 2014. He has been in his home country (India) for the last two years. He wants to renew the visa. Does he need to attend an interview or if the drop box facility avail for this case? Please guide through the process.

Not eligible for dropbox as the last issued visa has to be issued after January 1st 2008.
