gs12345
Hi, I was initially on H4 visa, later got my H1B and have been working now. Now, with the new immigration reform, since H4 visa can get an EAD based on spouse's I140 approval, can i switch to EAD even though i'm on H1B right now without changing my status to H4 and then to EAD? Reason being, i do not want to go through the hassle of stamping and maintaining my H1B status when i have an option to directly get an EAD. I greatly appreciate your feedback on this..thanks. JoeF
Nothing has been implemented yet. There is no timeline set apparently, but when the rules are coming out with a date when they are activated, then you could possibly switch to EAD. Link to comment
