Will I get my passport back if in case the processing takes time

Hi All,

 

I am from India and currently working in europe and I have my h1b approval for one year. I am going to India on vacation and has an option of applying for the visa interview in India. If I get the passport back in time then it is well and good. But I am concerned if they take time to process my application and hold my passport throughout. I heard in some cases the passport of the applicant is also kept with them while the application is under process.

 

Please kindly advise.

PP is your property, if you need it then you can ask vo after the interview itself.
