Hi,

 

I am victim of 498A dowrly law in India, i was arrested under 498a and got bail after week, but finallay the case was closed with divorcee settlement . 498A section was misused in india and there is no anticipatery bail it happend to me in 2010. i will eligible for applying us citizen process in next 6 months. I see N-400 application, if mentione i was arrested in the application. My application will be rejected or waht will happen. I paid lot of alumony to her and settled the divorcee, she filed 498a only for money but how to explain to inteview about this situvation. does anybody had simillar experince please share your thoughts on this. It is better not to apply for N-400  and stay with GC or if i apply for N-400 if it is denied does it impact anything on the greencard status. 498 is mostly misued in india i had suffred a lot and parents are got suffred l lost my mother also due this horrible situvation. It looks like she informed to USA consulate about the case, when i came back to USA from India , at POE they stopped me and asked the case i told it was closed and settled i got divorced.

 

Please share your ideas on this what to do. I will talk with immigraion laywayers but want to know ur feedback also.
