Expiry date of I94 and H1B visa are on Nov 21st,2014 with a valid I797 petition till sept,2017

Hi,

 

Could you please let me know what should i do here.

 

I got my H1B filed in company A and I left that organisation and joined company B and got transfered my petition I797 and got till sept,2017 for 3 years.

 

And my H1B visa is valid until Nov 21st,2014 which was applied by my company A,  and I travelled with that visa.

 

When I entered USA, my I94 is given same date as 21st Nov,2014, as per the visa I got from my old company B. And I  checked with CBP office and they told me to file I102 , and my company is telling me to cross the border (some where like mexico) and come back.Since filing will be much expensive than crossing border.

 

What would be the procedure if I cross the border ? Do I need to just go to mexico airport and return back to usa on the same day.And after returning to USA will I be getting a valid I94 as per the my new company A?

 

Please suggest me something good here...!!!
