H1 extension apporved in Ottawa but no email received from US consulate

Hi Folks,

 

My H1 visa was approved on Monday, Oct 20 in Ottawa but the visa status still shows 'Ready' which is ready for interview and they havent updated to 'Issued' yet

 

Visa offcier said visa will be issued within 2-3 business days but after 4 business days today the status is still saying 'ready' instead of 'issued'

 

Anybody who has faced this? Please share your experience and is this a normal scenario?

Be patient guys, you should be hearing from them within 7 business days. I had my interview earlier this month from the same consulate and everyone were updated with in 7 business days.

My interview was on 22nd oct in ottawa and got approved H1b with no PIMS. I am still waiting for email. Please keep update when you people get the passport.

Did you get your passport back? How long did it take? what does it mean by "approved H1b with no PIMS"? Please advice. I have appointment at Ottawa on November 5th.

Yes, I would say wait for 7 business days. So this is what happened I had my interview on sep29th and along with me 8 other guys who appeared for visa between sep26th - oct2nd everyone got a same reply from the consulate saying your visa is approved but it would take a min of 1 week to process the things and they also gave us 221G white slip. Embassy did their background check and updated our cases within 7 business days to pick up the PP.

VO approved my visa and did not mention about any PIMS issue. I just got to know after 5 business days there was a PIMS issue and they are still waiting for my petition to get update din PIMS. Wonder why an update takes so long???
