ganu
I have filed a G639 form to get the I 140 receipt number and copy of the I 140 approval. 1) How many days will take to process it? , I read it in the USCIS site : 21 days for simple requests. 2) Is there any way we can expedite it?, Any did the same? , http://www.uscis.gov/about-us/freedom-information-and-privacy-act-foia/foia-request-status-check-average-processing-times/check-status-request Since it is simple request it should go with track 1: Current Average FOIA Request Processing Times (All times in business days) USCIS uses a three-track system to process FOIA requests for alien file material. Track One (21 days): Simple requests; Track Two (38 days): Complex inquiries that normally necessitate additional search and review time; and Track Three (24 days): Requests by individuals scheduled for a hearing before an immigration judge. itsmeusa
You may not get the copy of I-140 approval, but the actual I-140 petition will be sent to you. It will have the case no and the status. USCIS will send you the receipt notice giving you case no for tracking online status of G-639. You can check that time how much time it takes. Link to comment
ganu
I had sent the G639 form on Oct 16th as email and Fax. I haven't received the receipt number yet. Will it take more than 2 weeks? , I can see that they will take only 21 days to process it in the USCIS site. so I should get the G639 receipt number and copy of the actual petition within 21 days? . shanch
Ganu - not to disappoint you but FOIA request takes approx 6 months in most cases. When i applied my number was 127 and after 2 months it is at 84. so it will take time. Be prepared for that. Link to comment
