guthikv
Hello, My Mother-in-law is currently with us and leaving on Nov 1st, which is 6 months close to completion. Once she exits the country how long she has to wait to get back to the states again? Does she has to wait 6 months or something and then come back? Please let me know. Thanks in advance. jairichi
There is no set time period. Being a visitor she needs to spend more time in her home country and less time abroad. If she tries to come back quickly she might get a lesser period of approved stay or worse asked to take the next flight back to home country. Link to comment

A visitor never "gets back" to the US. Only immigrants "get back" to the US. Are you telling us that your mother is not a visitor, but living with you in the US? A visitor has a.home abroad, and obviously lives there. Visits to other countries are rare. A rule of thumb is that a person who has visited the US for 6 months should be abroad for at least a year before visiting the US again. Link to comment

Visitor cannot spend more time in US. So do your calculations. Link to comment
