Urgent: Old i-94 number in new i797 approval after H1B transfer

Hi Gurus,

My Details are as follows -

 

1) My Visa stamp on my passport is valid till 1-November-2014.This is based on my pervious employer.

2) New employer filed H1B transfer on 4-November-2013 and the petition went on query

3) Meanwhile went to India and came back on 10-June-2014 where I had to show my previous employer's(X) visa and i797 at port of entry as I did not have latest i797 approved at that point of time. So I got stamp on my  passport for till 11-november-2014

4) On 5-August -2014 I got my i797 H1B approval from new employer which has i94 attached to it and valid till 15-May-2015. But i94 number on new i797 has old i94 number of previous employer as they filled my H1B before I left US.

5) But online i94 tracking system has the new i94 record number as per my recent travel to India and has validity till 11-November-2014.

 

Also I tried getting online i94 corrected by going to both info pass office and UCICS CBP office located in san francisco to get the i94 number corrected in the system but they refused saying that it was not a mistake from their end they would not correct it.

 

Questions to be asked:

1) So now my question is, can me and my wife who is on H4 stay in USA after 11-November-2014 as we have an approved i797 from my current employer till 15-May-2014?

2) If  'No'  can I go to mexico border Tijuana and cross the border to get new i94 and come back before 1-November-14 as my visa expires after that time frame.

3) Do I have to take my wife with me too or is there a workaround that my employer can file for her extrension after I get new i94.

 

So based on the above comments can anyone please suggest or advice what action needs to taken from my side or is it okay to stay in US beyond 11-November-2014.

 

I have changed my employer(Y) last year 4-November-13 and got H1B approval recently i.e 5-August-14, in between I traveled couple of times outside US. My last return date to US is 10-June-14 where I had to show my previous employer's(X) visa and i797 at port of entry as I did not have latest i797 approved at that point of time.
