harshalmj
Hi, I am currently on H4 visa and doing Masters. I am planning to move to F1 visa from my Spring 2015 semester (starting Jan 2015). Due to time constraint I can't apply for change of status now as normally it takes 2-3 months or more so only option left is to go for stamping. My question is can I go to Canada on my current H4 and do F1 stamping or not. My current H4 is getting expire in Oct 2014 but I have received extension of it. I have visa of Canada so I prefer going to Canada instead of going to India. Please provide me your expert opinion on this. Thanks, HJ Link to comment

rr253
Check your I20 for start date because at the time of POE they allow before 30 days of your I20 start date if its Jan 2015 you have to be enter in to USA in Dec 2014. if you attend visa before you have to enter on H4 itself then your F1 will not valid.
