Hello Everyone,

I received 221G slip from the consulate for my H1B visa. To continue processing, I was asked to send pdf copy to the email.

Evidence means are they referring to reference letter from the current employer stating the roles and responsibilities of the job? If so, my current employer told me that as per their company policies, they will not be giving any kind of reference letters.

What other options do I have. Please suggest.

Thanks,

Kumar GP

Send them a scanned version of your offer letter and relieving letter from previous employers as PDF document.

@Jairichi Thanks for the quick response. I have one more query. I work for Indian MNC. None of the company's here give us detailed explanation about the roles and responsibilities of the job either in the offer letter or in the relieving letter. My offer and relieving letter will only have designation and period of work. Does Consulate still accepts that as a evidence in the petitioned field?

@itsmeusa Thanks you for your response. Current employer and the petitioned employer is different. So I cannot directly go and ask them stating that its for H1B stamping. In general I have asked them to give me reference letter but they says that they cannot as per their policies. Most of the companies here in India don't give these kind of letters even though it's a simple one.

Please let me know if there are any other alternatives to give them the evidence of my previous work experience in the petitioned field.

Thanks,

Kumar GP

In that case, you need to have a proof that your previous employer is not giving you the experience / reference letter.

Then get the reference / experience letter from colleagues / managers in previous company on a plain paper with detailed contact information. If it's notarized, that's even better.

Give the proof and these letter to USCIS. You should be all set.

I know that. You can get kind of recommendation letter detailing your roles and responsibilities from your manager/supervisor in official letterhead. They are allowed to give that. That should be sufficient enough to show your work experience.
