Visa expired on Aug-14 but I94 valid till 2017-Feb

I have a valid i94 till 2017-Feb but my visa will be expiring Nov-2014 and a visa extension has been filed.

In case the extension rejected , can i still stay in my i94?

visa ext or petition ext??

If it is visa ext then you won't be in US physically since you have to attend interview at consulate

If it is petition ext then you will get a new I94.

 

How come you have I94 valid till 2017??

It is the pettion extension .

I have got the i-94 till 2017 on my last entry to US.

How could it be possible if your petition is expiring this year?

Even if your I94 is valid, you need to have a valid 797 to stay in US on H1.

I am in L1 and traveled out of US couple of months back . On re-entry, i got a new i-94 valid for next 3 years but visa was expiring within couple of months.

I heard like once admitted to US , only i-94 will be considered and visa expiration date is not important ?
