kal123kum
Hello, I received by greencard through employment based category and now eligible for applying for citizenship. In regards to taxes and citizenship - Since receiving my green card, for various reasons I have had to file my taxes after April 15. (allways filed extensions before april 15 for each year) Some years I filed in July or august. Please note never missed filing the taxes for any year. Filed them each year but not before April 15 due date Will this be an issue while applying for citizenship. Please advise. Thank you! Link to comment
JoeF
If you filed, and paid the appropriate penalties, there is no issue. Link to comment

GcLLC
No issues. Also note that as long as you paid your taxes on time, there is no penalty for extension either. Just got my citizenship. For the last 10 years I have filed for an extension by April 15th and filed the returns in September. Link to comment

Attorney_6
Right. The natz questions ask whether the person has failed to file tax returns and whether any Federal/state/local taxes are overdue. As long as all returns have been filed and taxes are all paid up, it is fine. Link to comment
