Fingerprint question

My PD is Sept 2008 which is current in this August.

RD is Aug 6th.

I am the primary applicant.

My question is:

my wife and kid got fingerprint appointments a week ago but I didn't yet.

Someone said I can go with my family and request them to take fingerprint .

But I am not sure if they allow me.

Has any one come across this situation?

I called USCIS and the said I should keep wait for my appointment.

Call the relevant ASC where the fp will be done and ask politely if possible.
