L1 eligibility questions

I think L1 visa has two categories : executive level and tech staff.

 

I think for tech staff you should have worked for the parent company atleast 1 year outside the usa.

 

does this same rule apply for the executive level L1 ?

 

I have worked with a company in the usa for over 7 years (I last worked with them in 2009). I have worked with them in india for a year some sometime in 2002.

 

so now if the same company want to process a L1 for me, do I still have to work with them for a year outside usa (assuming that even for the executive category the 1 year rule applies) - thought I have worked with them for many years in the past?

Yes, the same rule applies for L1A as well. That is you would had to be employed with the same company for at least 1 year in an executive or a managerial capacity.
