Waiver status

Hi I submitted DS3035 along with necessary documents and case number to DOS by July 8, 2014 through fedex. I received a copy of NOC from Washington consulate by july 15, 2014 stating that they forwarded the NOC. When i am tracking the status at DOS website, it says 'no information regarding the status of your case'. It is almost 22 days, still the status says "no information regarding the status of your case".

Is there any way we can email them to enquire about the status?. If so, i will be much thankful if anyone help me with the email address.

Thanks and your help and advise is much appreciated.

Hi Stan,

I am in the same situation as you. It has been weeks now since I have sent my application and still no information regarding my application status. I also tried to track my file by phone but the number is not working anymore.

Here is the email address for the J-1 waivers: 212ewaiver@state.gov.

However, I don't know if they will provide you with any information. I emailed them once for an important question, the only answer I have received was a copy/paste from the website. Let us know if it works differently with you.

I would also have a question: While I was applying for the waiver, my employer filled an H1B petition. A week ago, the petition has been approved by the USCIS and I just got by mail the approval letter, the I-129 and the I-797B form. But still no information on my J1 waiver application status. Is that the normal procedure?

Thanks!

It is not the normal procedure. You will get an I797 approval notice for your J1 waiver. If your H1B petition was filed as COS and if you have got an I797B then probably it is an indication that your J1 waiver decision is not yet taken.

I understand.

Thanks a lot for your responses and advice.

Hi,

I am planning to file my J1 waiver and fill out DS3035 so that I can get an H1 subsequently. I have two questions regarding this-

1) In the supporting documents for DS3035, Do I need to submit a letter from my employer that he will be willing to give me an H1 next year and he needs me for the project work so I should be granted the waiver?

2) My spouse is J2 EAD. So once I get my waiver Can he file his H1 before me? Or is it mandatory that I should get H1 before him?

A quick reply would be helpful

Thanks

Shruti

1. No.

2. Doesn't matter.
