Going back to school on J-1 visa

Hi,

 

I am a phd in molecular biology, I am a research fellow at my current university and need to move to an another city for personal reasons.

 

I understand that J1 doesn't allow you to do jobs other than post-doc. In the scenario that I don't find a post-doc -can I go back to school (some community college) on J1?

You can study only on F1 as international student.
