I94 expiration date different from Visa/I-797 expiration date.

While travelling to US recently, the POE officer put an early expiration date on the electronic I-94, but there is more time left for my visa expiry. I believe it's by mistake. Can anyone please suggest how to get it corrected?

Exit and enter US with a valid visa and approval notice.

My H1 petition and Visa both expires on 31DEC2015. In the I-94, the expiration date is mentioned as 10JAN2015. Please let me know whether I can change this without leaving the country?

I believe instead of 10 Jan 2016 it was stamped as 10 Jan 2015. You could approach your local CBP office.

my amendment/extension got approved when I was on a trip to india and i797 is till 2016 September

when I re-entered USA with out the extension documents I got my I94 till August 2014

- so IF I exit and enter USA with visa till August 2014   and with documents  I797 till SEPTEMBER 2016

  can I get the i94 w.r.t my i797 or do I need to go for stamping with my extended i797

If you enter with your valid H1B visa before Aug 2014 and new I797 you will get I94 till Sep 2016.

If you enter before Aug 2014 (the date your visa expires), you don't need a new stamp. You can show the extension and most likely the new I-94 will be valid until Sept 2016.

However, anytime you re-enter after Aug 2014 (irrespective of what your I-94 validity is), you will need a new visa stamp.

 

Visa should be valid (non expired) when you are entering the country.

I-94 should be valid (non expired) while you are in the country.

I have the same issue....I printed my I-94 online and the Admit Until Date is May 2015.. But it is actually supposed to be May 2016 (Visa Expires May 2016)

Either visit the local CBP office or exit and enter US before I94 expiry.
