palwag
Am currently in the 4th year of my H1b visa. My company will start my GC process in 2 months. Recently my sister also became a US citizen and wants to file for a family based GC for me. 1) Is it possible to apply/process both Employment based and Family based GC application at the same time? 2) Or would 1 application trump the other? 3) Also, which one is better? ps: I did my masters in the US. JoeF
The family-based application would be in Family Category 4, which has a 12+ year backlog. Both family-based and employment based applications are possible in parallel, but the employment-based application is likely faster. It also tends to allow more flexibility. Link to comment

Yes. 3. Both are better. Link to comment
t75
Go for both. Employment is generally faster but two paths give you a backup plan. Link to comment
