Advice on options after potential layoff

Hey everyone!
I am currently working at a company that is going through hard financial times, and while I am looking for another job, things seem to be going slow on that end. I was wondering what my status/ options are in case of a layoff before I find another job.

My status currently is:

- EB3 filing in 2011, with an approved I-140

- Attorney tells me that I-485 is filed when the priority date is current, which is a little confusing, because the forums seem to state otherwise. Currently, the company is doing no further filing of any sort anyway

- One year remaining on H1B.

Please advice and thank you in advance!

Your attorney is right. You will file your 485 only when your PD is current.

Find another H1 job and if that employer is willing to process your GC then you can port your PD.
