Hi Friends,

I have immensely benefited from Murthy Forum with regards to the immigration.

I wanted to share my visa stamping experience:

-- Appointment Time at 8.05 AM - March 5th 2014

-- FT job

VO: Good Morning!

Me: Good Morning! How are you today sir?

VO: I am good thank you. (It is a small place where there was a chair to sitdown)

Me: Can I have my seat. (Politely)

VO: Yes Please.

Me: Thank You.

VO: Took the DS160 Confirmation, Passport, I797 (H-1B Approval)

VO: Typing something......So were you staying in US before

Me: Yes sir, I was staying in US.

VO: So you did your Masters at XYZ University.

Me: Yes sir.

VO: What stream did you do your Masters?

Me: XYZ

VO: Ok thats a very good university.

VO: Kept Typing...So I see that you work for a company XYZ

Me: Yes Sir.

VO: So are your a manager or something there or you handle  a big team?

Me: No sir, I am working as a Analyst in my company and I report to a manager.

VO: Good, so your employer is paying on time and are you being compensated for the over time hours you work?

Me: Yes sir.

VO: So have you gone thru the booklet which explains your rights as a H-1B worker?

Me: Yes Sir

VO: Ok, you are all set your visa is approved. It should be ready for pick up with in 3-5 business days.

Me: Thanks Sir, Appreciate your time.

** Bottom line is no documents other than the DS160, Passport, I797 were asked. But do carry all the relevant docs.

** Be cool and carry out the conversation crisply and dont panic.

Congrats on your visa!

How is the visa success rate in Calgary, was everyone getting approved on their visas?

This is a very stupid question, visa success rate is as good as your documentation. If your documentation is good and you have no issues with your status then any consulate is the same.
