indian_engineer
I am a US citizen and have applied for my mother's I130/I485 concurrent. She did her biometrics in January when she was in the US. More than 6 months had passed since the application so I called in to ask for status and the USCIS asked her to reappear for biometrics. She is currently outside the US and will not be able to make it for the appointment. Has anyone been in a similar situation? I am planning to reschedule the appointment. Can I ask for a specific time period? How long can I delay the biometrics. Link to comment
Attorney_22
Generally it is possible to reschedule a biometrics appointment and you may request a specific date. However it is at the discretion of USCIS to grant the specifically requested date. Often USCIS will issue a new appointment date in approximately one to two months from your request. USCIS will generally grant one, and sometimes two reschedule requests without issue, however beyond that, approval of a third reschedule request is very unlikely. Link to comment
pontevecchio
Hopefully she left with AP. Link to comment
vick45
Rescheduling the FP is fine, but USCIS will decide the timeframe on the new appointment date based on the next available date at ASC. Link to comment
indian_engineer
Thanks for the responses folks. Yes, pontevicchio she did leave with a AP. As per Attorney_22's suggestion I will request a specific date and let's see what USCIS accepts. Link to comment
