Hello All,
I received my H1 approval for H1 extension. In the approval notification email, I the approval email, its mentioned as, "Consulate Notified: Chennai"
Do I have to go to Chennai for stamping now. I am a resident of Hyderabad. Can I go to Hyderabad Consulate for stamping. I dont want Chennai all the way and have them issue me a 221G to go to Hyderabad as my residence is in Hyderabad.
Please let me know.

HI , you can visit the Consulate that you wish to . it does not matter which consulate you attend for the visa interview .

@EVC123 - Yes. I don't think I have received the I-94(due to previous denial, a different story altogether). I didn't get the original I-797 as yet. My employer just got the email approval.

Did your Email approval mentioned I 94 # as well ?
You said they notified chennai Consulate. So How do they decide that? Did you mention in your h1b form to notify Chennai consulate if your change / extension of status is not approved?
