Hi,

I have valid L1B Visa till Aug,2012 but i got i-94 validity till Aug, 2014 when I entered US in Oct, 2011.

My family came to US last week(12th Nov, 2011) but their i-94 validity was given only till L2 visa expiry Aug, 2012.

My query is: as I can stay in US legally till my i-94 expiry Aug, 2014 but what about my dependents. Can their i-94 be extended based on my i-94 which is valid till Aug, 2014 (or) do I need to go for my L1 petition extension.

Your feedback is higly appreciable

Thanks

Krishna

i-539. You can extend their L2 status before it runs out.

More importantly it seems your family showed a previous L1 approval for you and not the current one till August, 2014. Hence your take should be that the CBP made a mistake and you can get the I94 corrected at the nearest CBP post at the Airport. First call them.
