pb_syr
i have my citizenship interview coming up in a few days and have the following questions: Are there any risks with travelling out of the country immediately after citizenship interview and before the oath ceremony? What should I do if I am asked to take the oath right after the interview? If the officer says that the application requires further review, are there any risks in being out of the country ? Thanks ! pontevecchio
You still have to fulfil the stay and residence requirements at the time of the oath ceremony. If that is so then you are OK. If you are asked to take the Oath after the ceremony thank your lucky stars and do so. I suspect this would be highly unlikely. Reviews for Naturalization are exceedingly rare and even then travel is irrelevant. Obviously if you want to travel to TRUMPS persecution mania countries, wait till you get a Passport. pb_syr
Thanks pontevecchio. In regards to Q#2, I would need a US passport to travel after I take the oath. Is it possible to request the IO to schedule my oath after I am back ? Thanks again. Link to comment
pontevecchio
You can get an expedited passport in any case. I strongly doubt your path will be on the same day. Which center/place is involved? Link to comment
pb_syr
Philly. That's correct. Most likely the oath wouldn't be on the same day, however is it possible to request a date 3-4 weeks out for the oath. Link to comment
pontevecchio
It will certainly not be on the same day. They will let you know the day and time. You cannot request a time and date. You can postpone one appointment by asking for a postponement. I was naturalized in Philadelphia. Link to comment
