H4 EAD to H1B

My spouse has H1B validity till 2020 with I-140 approval from previous employer and has a 2013 priority date, has recently changed job and the new GC application is in progress, the new I-140 is yet to be approved.I'm currently on H1B visa with validity till 2020. I've I-140 approved with priority date in 2013. If I switch to H4 EAD can I switch back to H1 later? Till when can I do so?
